I live on Forest Golf site Esentepe. We have been told as from Monday 23rd no tanker water will be allowed on site, They will be arrested by order of the Mayor. The infrastructure is in place to provide the water from the local holding tanks. He still wants 1.000 pounds per property,or no connection. There are 78 properties,so how is he going to implement this as the majority don’t live here.

In 2004 we were advised not to buy in or around Esentepe as there was a severe water problem. Now it looks like the mayor is holding homeowners to ransom over this precious commodity. I feel for all those affected.

Interesting.

Does the mayor have any right in law to have someone arrested for delivering water ?

This needs to be challenged in court.

There is the Esentepe Campaign for Water -----, supposedly involved with the Ombudsmen on this issue. I am informed that whilst this process is ongoing, legal challenge cannot be mounted. No doubt more 'Chinese Whisper'. The Ombudsmen must make a ruling on the legality of the whole issue, not piece meal aspects.

The tankers come from Tatlisu. If you want to phone him he will tell you what the Mayor has told him regarding delivery.Ibrihim 05338669735.

Apparently the mayor has been told that stopping water tankers from delivering is not allowed. Also been told he needs to review prices etc. Looks like a positive outcome for EWCFT.
