A lot of Yapı markets sell them - Ersem on the Lapta/Alsancak border for one.

I have bought replacement 'birds' (after the bird had flown ) from Ebay.

They certainly do the job but they don't last very long, as Keith's experience has shown and mine too.

Unless you can mount it completely in the clear free from any surrounding obstructions then forget it.

That is a 64,000 dollar question. A shotgun would be the ideal answer !!!!

In places I could reach I had success using Rat & Mouse glue, once they have landed onto that they don't come back but that is a very messy business to get right without it spreading where you don't wish it to as it runs in hot weather so care is needed not to use excessive amounts.

My Scary Bird lasted a short while and then developed “Bird Flu”

We nursed him back to life before he decided to fly off .

As useful as a chocolate tea pot!

Scarem make them in the UK - we have used them for years. The tailors are so skilled here that they are able to 'copy' the fabric bird and make a replacement. Generally we would say that buying from Scarem we do get a good years wear from one bird. We like the Hawk in preference to the Kite.
