Water supply upper Karsiyaka
Upper and lower Karsiyaka are supplied from two different sources. I wonder if anyone can enlighten me as to why, for the last fortnight, water to upper Karsiyaka has been cut off every day from about 1600.
The current state of affairs is tht water was cut off yesterday 9Saturday) afternoon at about 1600 and to the present (Sunday 1735) remains cut off.
No-one has answered the emergency contact telephone number all day.
Some service!!!!!!!!!!

Another thing is I think that water in upper Karsiyaka is from the artesian well but you still pay as if you are getting it from Turkey, been lots of complaints about this.
Re: Water supply upper Karsiyaka
The water restrictions you talk of have been going on for weeks in Karsiyaka. It puzzles me that there is presumably plentiful water from Turkey (the reservoir looks fairly full) which we are paying for and yet we still get water rationing. I even suspected that we were paying for Turkish water but being supplied from the artesian wells which I suspect are running low. The other thought was that the restrictions were because of repairs to the system i.e. pipes not being able to cope with the new pressure although the regularity of the cut off seems to go against that.

Actually I have found Mr Tolga very helpful in the last eight years.
He organised the laying of water supply pipes and meters for our street.
His office is next to the water department which also helps.
Always answers emails very promptly.

I live near the mosque and have had no problems at all apart from a month ago and it was rectified within a couple of hours - the person I speak to directly is a guy called Soner - 0533 8498555. He is really good and sends someone within an hour!! or if there is a problem that is aware of will tell you on the phone. Best of luck

Re: Water supply upper Karsiyaka
I have now spoken to the water department.
It has been confirmed that my address (and others) are supplied from the Government owned artesian wells.
The artesian well has broken down.
They are waiting for the Government to repair it.
In the meantime my address within my water district is having their water shared with two other districts - hence the water being switched on and off periodically.
"You are getting water every couple of days aren't you?"
"You are being charged for water - not water from Turkey!" when I questioned the supply and charges.
As I said previously - What a service.

Re: Water supply upper Karsiyaka
Going back a few years Karsiyaka always had severe summer water supply problems, we were totally dependent on water tankers to keep us supplied from the end of June right through the summer. Things are much better now, thank God.
