Re: UK Driving Licence.
Sorry, but clicked onboth links and have indeed got Mail Online, but can't find the bit about driving licences. All I can find it talks or kids booked for porn; supermodels' internet romances and a bit of other 'stuff'. Where am \I going wrong.

Re: UK Driving Licence.
Sorry marion it seems to have gone.
Here is basicaly the message.
More than 40,000 motorists risk being fined up to £1,000 because they are unwittingly driving without a valid licence.
They have failed to spot that their photocard licence automatically expires after ten years and has to be renewed.
Motoring organisations said most drivers believed, wrongly, that their new-style licence was for life and blamed the Government for the fiasco.

Re: UK Driving Licence.
thanks for the expl, anation. I can quite see how some folk would be upset. I mean, how often does one look at one's licence to see when it expires, especially as it used always to be valid until one reached 70 years of age. otherwise changes of address had to be notified, and one could be fined if one moved and did not notify the DV LC (or whatever they are). i would have thought the efficient government would have sent notifications when the licences expires, unless of course they do and people have moved and not notified the changes of address, in which case they could be fined for that?!!!!! Myhusband is out of it, as he let his U.K licence expire, but I wonder just how many people are aware of this 10 year thing - just like a passport. Yet the daft thing is that when my husband renewed his after 70 a couple of times or more, ou did not need to submit a new photo. I guess they think once you are old and wrinkly not much changes.

Re: UK Driving Licence.
Yes but the only way you can do that is if your passport is less than 3 years old.Deniz1 wrote:I renewed mine on line and gave my daughters address cost me £20 they used my passport photo just in case I need to go to the dark side!

If your passport is less than 5 years ,as Deniz1 says, think you give DVLA permission , on line, to use yr photo quoting yr passport number etc.......Royalcorpsoftranspor wrote:Silly question maybe , but how do you get your passport photo to DVLA ?
Stand to be corrected as I don`t have that option.
