"Women playing rugby is as natural as men playing badminton" Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 08:30 till 11:00 every week, regardless of heat or cold - no air con I am afraid but you are welcome to fetch your own strange shaped ball with you if you think that would work. Spare "clubs" that would be a racquet in badminton speak that you can borrow, strange plastic feathered things provided. Only rule is that you must wear trainers - you can wear your boots if you want but please remove the studs first! Contact details can be found in Cyprus Today, probably the contact name and phone number will be wrong but give it a try.
Will be happy to see you there, suggest you wear lighter clothing than for Rugby and leave your head protection at home.

No matter how hard the past, you can always begin again.

Re: Shame on the RFU - Sport run by old fogies
Personally always thought of Rugby Union as a sport for people who aren't much good at other sports.
Lanky guys put in for the line outs are generally tall enough but without the hand to eye co-ordination to play basketball.
Fly halves are failed footballers. They can make contact with the ball with their foot but without much accuracy.
Most of the forwards are dart players getting some fresh air. Slowly waddle up for a scrum, push against some other dart players to get the ball to their fly half to kick the ball, slicing it off the pitch in the opponents half.
Then comes the line out for the failed basketball players to be lifted up and slap down the ball for the dart players to have a bit of a push against the opposing dart players..
Etc etc etc.

If women's rugby is so important, why do not women establish their own governing body and not rely on the 'old fogies' in the HQ RFU? Rhetorical really because it is easier to 'bleed' than to establish. Get infrastructure, sponsorship, grounds, leagues and international competition on your own terms, rather than rely on the RFU to act like your parent. Flak jacket on!

Enjoyingthesun;
Judging by your comments I suspect you once fancied the game but failed to measure up. Perhaps it was a bit too rough for you. Although women do play these days, it's really a mans game - have you considered quilting?

The game was invented by someone who couldn't.
Did play it a few times for the school. Pretty easy to play. Get the darts players to chuck the ball back and drop kick it over the posts. Hell of a big target, it was like kicking a ball into a car park. As long as you are not right on the line near the posts with no angle I can't believe they ever miss conversions. But again failed footballers.
If you can run with a ball at your feet with quick players chasing you then having the ball tucked under your arm with a chubby lad chasing you isn't a problem tbh

But you are right I'm probably in better shape now to play Rugby than I was as a lad.trooper wrote: failed to measure up.

Nice picture above of current New Zealand players Karl Tuinukuafe and Owen Franks excited about a new Greggs opening I'm guessing.
Am I right that their team New Zealand, a country with a miniscule population, have won the last two Rugby World Cups?
