Good article about the brothers

Personally saw him after taking my car in for servicing a couple of years ago lovely man no regrets about giving up he world of football

Used to lend his car to his girlfriend only when empty typical Yorkshireman petrol was 6/3 d a gallon

Peter Knowles, was an amazing footballer, He was my hero along with the Doog. In the days of massive crowds in the South bank. In 1982 I met him and became friends we were both in the same trade.

What a lovely man, and as you say no regrets. I asked him a few years later why did you give a golden career up. (or should I say Old Golden) His reply was , Because I would have finished up like George Best.

Nice One Cyril. The song was about his brother.

Hopefully Wolves are about to repeat their glory days.

Peter was a touch before my time but I used to watch Cyril a fair bit at Tottenham. It is interesting to speculate on what Wolves might have achieved in the early seventies had Peter kept playing. In those days anyone from 6-8 clubs could win the league and Wolves wasn’t far short, achieving a couple of top four finishes.

Peter was compared as a second George Best. He was a very talented player, In the days before big money.

We would be playing football in the street where his girlfriend (Now wife lived) He had a white Triumph Spitfire with his Initials on the side in Orange. That's about as flash as it got in those days for a Wolves footballer.
