How ironic, a leaflet is to be (20,000) to be handed to FOREIGNERS advising them as the rights and wrongs of driving in the TRNC. Apparently it is the lack of awareness of the rules and regulations that is partly to blame for the rising tide of crashes. Did you know that you must give way to vehicles on your right, and must give way at pedestrian crossing and obey the speed limits and mustn't use a mobile when driving other than via handsfree unit.
You will have to read the article yourself, but it would be laughable if it wasn't so sad!! I can't wait to get my leaflet to see where I'm going wrong.

Re: Page 3 Cyprus Today
Every week the media are full of reports "Lost control of vehicle and it flipped several times" indicates to me that they weren't in control in the first place, another serious one last night by Erdeners/Ozankoy turning, both on local plates,

Yes the roundabout thing is a problem on mainland Turkey. When we moved there the rule was to give way on roundabouts, then a directive came from government to say this was to stop. It appeared that not many heard about or read the directive so anything could happen!! I find driving here much better than in the bigger Turkish cities but it's still pretty chaotic! Hey ho......all part of living in the Eastern Med.
