Re: MOT
From memory you just need to take your emissions test paperwork, plus log book.
Make sure your engine number which is on the engine can be read. Wipe off any excess oil or mud that may be covering it.
As for the rest just do a check that lights, indicators etc work ..........plus tyres have some tread.
On arrival open up the bonnet ready for the check.....from experience the tester gets grumpy if they have to do it.
When I took a vehicle in for a test a few years ago.........not my car, I was waiting in the queue....in front of me was an old Turkish Cypriot gentleman in an old but clean and tidy car....the tester for some reason gave him the full works.......in the other bay a young lady drove up in a shiny BMW. Without being sexist she was wearing a low cut blouse, high heels and looked glamorous. She got out and immediately began talking on her phone. The tester, opened up her bonnet for her, checked the engine number, closed bonnet and she drove off. All done in 2mins........in the meantime I looked at the old gentleman in the next bay. His car was still being checked - the look on his face said it all.
The rest is in the lap of the gods.

Re: MOT
You have to go to the tax office with all the current paperwork and pay ,then take this receipt and paperwork to the MOT part of the police station, make sure that your engine bay is clean as the only real part of an MOT is to check your engine no.I would advise that you get the new number plates fitted.

Re: MOT
Had mine this morning.
Went to tax office (in the rain) - out after 5 minutes, after paying 180TL.
Went to the MOT part of the police station and, as happened three years ago, the guy never came within ten yards of the car but still passed it!!
I believe that next year it may be possible to pay the fee online rather than at the tax office.

Paying the fee on-line would be a great help!paul90 wrote:Had mine this morning.
