Why has my gmail turned greek

For some time now, I have had more and more Greek Ads appearing on anything to do with YouTube and Facebook but this evening both of my Gmail addresses have gone TOTALLY Greek. Not a word of English anywhere and can't open them up. to read messages. Hasn't affected my mobile though, only the laptop.

With ISPs here, your Internet Protocol Address (IP) either registers as being in Turkey (Turkish) or Cyprus (Greek). seeing greek ads mean that your ip is a Cyprus one. as for email, you can choose your preferred language, use google translate to navigate through the menus, or bring your laptop to Multimax office and we will happily assist you.

Sophie - open your gmail - right click on the page and the option should come up to Translate to English.

ifonly, I can't open and read emails in order to right click on the page. When I click on Gmail on my screen desk top, all I get is a picture of a mobile, an iPad, a laptop and a PC, all in Greek. I thought perhaps there would be a "flag" I could click to change, but there isn't. Thanks Kemal, I'll take you up on your offer and take laptop to MM to have a look at it. It hasn't affected my mobile or my Kindle, just the laptop (my primary piece of equipment for Emails). The complete change happened very recently, but the Ads have been slowly becoming a complete nuisance. However I have never had Turkish Ads either in the past.

Left hand corner bottom of the screen (the blue 4 paned window) is your settings. click on the icon to open and you should be able to change the language. Good luck

Thanks enchanted but sadly that doesn't work either. I'll be taking up kbasat offer and going down to MM first thing in the morning as I'm sure its an ISP problem as he suggests. Thanks all the same.

I doubt it will be anything to do with MM Sophie. Is there not someone you know who can have a quick look at for you?

She does! But try this:

To change the language you use to see Gmail

Open Gmail in your browser.

In the top right, click Settings (the little cog wheel thingy).

Click Settings.

In the "Language" section, pick a language from the drop-down menu.

At the bottom of the page, click Save Changes.

Oh dear, Oh dear. Sorry people, but I can't do what any of you are suggesting because its all Greek, (other than Kibcom) I can't do what Mowgl597 suggests because the Browser clicks into Greek !!!!! I am taking laptop to expert today and if he can't see the problem then I'll be down to MM to see if KB's suggestion that it might be an ISP problem.

Got mine sorted yesterday, 20tl. Not sure what he did, but what ever it was he said it was very unusual and shouldn't happen, something about "something in the laptop pointing in the wrong direction" Don't ask!!
