Roadworks on Girne-to-Lefkoşa road from 9am today (Thursday)

Probably due to the severe flooding in the (Girne) Boğaz region last week, today from 9am onwards there will be roadworks around the Boğaz junction to repair the road. These roadworks will be on the Girne to Lefkoşa side of the road.

There are things going on all the way round the new bypass every time i go different bits are closed off if only they would put a warning sign up before you get on the road but no.

I love it when you get a diversion and have no idea where to go so you follow the car in front and realised that they too are lost!

Be warned, I have been on the bypass 2 mornings this week and the police have been out with their speed cameras normally only see them at night time.

Must not go at right time to get trapped. The speed traps are often out at the King Bowling alley traffic lights, occasionally at the next set travelling east and at the roundabout after GAU roundabout where there is a dip in the road where you naturally pick up speed and you are blind going to the r.bout until you are on top of police. We have usually seen them on Fridays, pay day, collecting fines to pay the wages!!!!!!

Do we know if the roadworks will be completed by tomorrow. They seem to drag on for ever......

From what I saw today, one JCB clearing drainage channels, this will go on for some time.
Disruption to traffic flow was nil when we went through around 10.00 with just a short section of one lane coned off. He was still there when we returned around 15.30, in same place.
