It's the same disease that's caused some of the problem here - potato blight in Turkey, I believe.
One of my ancestors was a young lady who came to England because of the potato famine in Ireland and married an Englishman. So I have a lot to thank the disease for.

I've got some spuds. 4 big ones to bake. From Starlings. Cost me 13.70tl and they were 14.25tl a Kg. And before anyone says "you was robbed", I don't care because I wanted jacket potatoes.

Got some lovely spuds from Ya Beles at Alsancak, 13.90 TL per kilo, expensive but great quality.

I don't know what happened in Ireland. I wasn't there at the time, but in Ileli's they are selling at 14.99TL per kilo. Small to medium size but good quality

If there was a problem with drought - why is the water which is being sent from Turkey not being used for agriculture to assist farmers in TRNC? It would help farmers be able to sell their products locally and make the country much greener.

The farmers don't want to use the Turkish water as they would have to buy it and it would greatly increase the production costs, so they try to use their well water instead.
