Why would America feel the need to placate Turkey over the murder of that journalist the Saudis killed him.

Apparently Trump is overstepping the bounds of his office again and upsetting the powers that be in the judicial services. This is very unlikely to happen. Trump is feeling the heat from Mueller and is likely to be in hot water very soon.
