Cortisone injection
Has anyone had a cortisone injection into a knee here? If so, where, and how did it go?

Re: Cortisone injection
Side effects of cortisone are horrendous they recommend no more than 3 injections in a lifetime. If there is an alternative I'd certainly investigate. It was the wonder drug in the 70s for footballers which is why so many of them were on crutches in their early fifties.

I had 1 done in my elbow 20 years ago still going strong no side effects here.
The injection hurt but the pain relief was instant.

Glad to hear it. Don't wish anyone ill or being alarmist.DarkAli wrote:Had the first 2 over 20 years ago,if you cant walk I can assure you they are a must no side effects at all they worked for me
Never indulged myself but being a football fan I know some of the poor players ended up with bones like Swiss cheese and it even caused infertility in some cases.
I know reading up on the late great Kevin Beattie he was told you should only have three jabs in a lifetime and he was getting two jabs before every game and one at half time.

Sounds scary. I am having a total replacement in the near future so it would just be the one jab, so I’ m not bothered about side effects. I just would like to know if there is someone here that can do it, I think it is a bit of a specialised procedure. Nice to know that some of you have had success with it.

Re: Cortisone injection
My husband has had a couple of injections in his knee which he said helped for a short time. He did not have cortisone but some sort of ‘grease gun’ approach, but I would expect they would be administered in a similar way?
The doctor is Huseyin Kalgay at Kamioglu he is going to have his knee replacement done by him eventually.

I had serum injections into my knee just over a year ago and its still working well. Its a serum made from your own blood. My specialist is Dr çobanoglu in Lefkosia, our family and friends been going to him for years, and 3 of us have had cortisone injections in the back. Hes very reasonably priced too.
