I am a "Fez-ant Plucker"
I am pleased to announce that The Fez, Catalkoy, have asked me to play Friday 7th December 8.30pm til midnight (ish). I will be playing a mixture of Rock Classics, "Unplugged Almost" featuring acoustic versions of famous songs from The Eagles, Bon Jovi, Eric Clapton and Pink Floyd to name a few. Then to round off the evening with some popular "Dancey Stuff". I am looking forward to my first gig at this superb venue "East of Girne" regards Barry

Catalkoychris, The Fez is a stones throw away from the Supreme supermarket. Down the road opposite and a short distance on the right. Its a Pub/Restaurant with very pleasing decor, comfy seats, log fires, and a great atmosphere. Hope to see you there regards Barry

Re: I am a "Fez-ant Plucker"
The Fez is an "English" "pub" type place, which also has some rooms for let, does food (used to be good but chef and menu must have changed), has an expat following, who always seem to be propping the bar whenever we go there. Has a good manager called Ali who is very helpful.
Don't know how well you know the area but coming from Girne you pass the Supreme supermarket on your left, 100 yards passed that, just after the row of shops with Mardo's, Spagetti Junction, Hot Chick & the chemist there is a turning right, signed Catalkoy, you take this right.(Before you get to Ya Belles on your right)
Then take the next right and it's 20 yards on your right (if the car park is full they have an overflow carpark almost opposite on the left)
Quite often when they have acts like Barry they will take orders for tables and restrict the numbers who can attend, they sometimes do special meal deals for the event as well.
The area where the acts perform is outside so if it rains the show could be cancelled (as happened last time we booked to attend a show there)

Halffull, Thank you for your input and directions. The Fez is a sympathetic Ottoman style building with a very welcoming interior with comfortable seats and log fires etc and a very nice atmosphere which seems very popular with ex pats. I can assure you and everyone else that they will not restrict entry as they have ample staff to cater for all who wish to attend. I will be playing "Inside" thus will not be cancelled under any circumstances. As said in a previous post I will play a mixture of music from George Benson to Pink Floyd, Queen, Eric Clapton, The Eagles, Bon Jovi, Phil Collins, Santana ,Free, and my idol, the late great Mr Gary Moore. Please come along and have a singalong to all the favourite songs including "Bohemian Rhapsody" regards Barry

Re: I am a "Fez-ant Plucker"
Allen, As you know, I have a very varied and comprehensive song list, which hopefully will please the majority of audiences but sometimes it is hard to do so. I will play my Brian May thing as it seems to be very popular but never heard on the "east side" and will be doing Tubular Bells as it also is quite festive ! thank you all for your continued support regards Barry

Not surprised that The Fez is nearly fully booked with Barry playing, you're guaranteed a rockin top class performance every time. There really needs to be more 'snakes' gigs to liven things up on a weekend both to the east and the west Girne (just my opinion).

Thank you all for your kind words ! I would like to say that the reference to bookings is only for the restaurant area ! there is plenty of room in the lounge/bar area with ample comfy seating and log fire ! I am confident that this event will be well attended and look forward to the friendly atmosphere on Friday ! Regards Barry

Re: I am a "Fez-ant Plucker"
The Fez is now fully booked in the restaurant but hope to make extra room in the bar/lounge area for those who wish to support us tomorrow evening (Friday 7th). I will start with some "Softer Rock" (quieter) songs during the early evening whilst dining, moving on to the usual "Snake Rock" throughout the night concluding with "up tempo" dance stuff from The Stones, Rainbow, Brian Adams, Bon Jovi, T Rex and many more. Really looking forward to this concert ! Regards Barry

Really looking forward to it, and well done the Fez for staging this event ! This man is an amazing performer (and with unique backing tracks) for those doubters, come and see this great show of musicianship and guitar skills if you can get in. Allen
