New Watch battery
Is there anywhere nearer Karsiyaka for having a watch battery put in a wristwatch? We have had to go to Girne but seems a long way for just that.

They have large selection in Mr Pound I believe and I think I've seen them in China Bazaar as well.

It's worth visiting the lovely chap in the Girne street that runs down to the sea past the Kibtek offices, his shop is on RHS in the last quarterof the road and has Samsonite sign... He will make sure you get a top quality battery for a pittance but ensure any seals are correctly seated.... Even though I'm always up for a bargain I would never fit a battery in a watch from Mr. Pound.

Thank you Groucho, that is the dear old man we usually go to. It is a pity we have to go to Girne but yes, i think it is worth it. I doubt my ability to put the correct battery correctly into my watch!!

Re: New Watch battery
With greatest respect to the guy you are referring to (or do you mean the chap down the "mobile phone" street?) I've bought many fake watches from him and know him well, but even he has asked when I've asked him to fit a new battery on an older watch "do you want a good battery or not" In those days it was 5tl or a 10tl one. If you go to him, make sure you ask for a good one. By the way, in one of my watches I have a Mr Pound battery, which is a year old now. You could always go to Aykay Optic of course and pay 3 times the price, but I wouldn't guarantee it is three times as good.
