Great isn't it?? Back to paying full whack for flights and little or no choice of airlines. I've personally never flown from Larnaca in 14 years, but it was reassuring that there was an alternative if an emergency arose back in UK or wherever. I wonder how it will affect UK citizens flying out to see us in TRNC?

Our return to North Cyprus will be before the 29th March 2019 so it will be via an airport in the south.

We will then watch with interest what happens after this date and make a decision as to how we return to the U.K.

Interesting times ahead but we will adapt.

Booked my outbound flight to Cyprus for March 28th via Larnaca, will worry about the return flight at a later date. If need be it will have to be with Turkish Airlines, not going to worry about it now.

I don't get this worry over flights just book with a visa card your then covered
We booked with Corbet airways got out ok but just before we were due home they went under
We got a full refund for the flights in and out, the new return flight home taxi fare to airport car parking at Gatwick and the extra 3 days accommodation we had to pay
I'm leaving now to go find myself....if I arrive before I get back, please ask me to wait!

TAC don't think the problem is with the flights its more to do with being able to cross the border after we leave the EU and are non longer part of the union, will we have to have visa's like other non EU countries or will we be allowed special privileges to cross...…. who knows what the future holds after march but I bet it will cost us more money

Swiss and Norway part of EEA if we leave without an agreement we will be without rules and I'm sure our friendly neighbors will assist our transit in every way

Does anyone know how the RoC treat our Oz/Kiwi, Canadian, Russian, USA and the many other non-EU/EEA countries' brethren when they visit? Possibly UK nationals will fit into the same category post-Brexit?

My partner is a New Zealand national. Under the terms of the Green Line agreements between the RoC and the EU she is free to cross the Green Line either way and regardless of how she may have entered Cyprus with just her NZ passport as NZ nationals do not require a visa to enter the RoC. The RoC can not unilaterally change the terms of this agreement though they can unilaterally, until they join schengen, decide that NZ nationals require a visa to enter the RoC, should they wish to.
What they can also unilaterally do and have done previously to a tiny number of nationals in the same category is deny her entry in to the RoC via entry points other than the Green Line (via Larnaca or Paphos airports for example) on the basis that they suspect once in the RoC she will cross to the North.

TY Erol for your helpful response, it may just assuage some of the concerns other posters have!

I think the amount of revenue that is generated for the South by the many that visit or live on the North but use the airports at Larnaca and Limmasol will have a part to play. If they stopped us from crossing into the South and forced us to fly into Ercan the loss of revenue for the airlines and airports in the South would be considerable.

Money talks.

Politics may talk an awful lot louder (and hotter),but doesn`t necessarily say an awful lot more.

"the airports at Larnaca and Limmasol"

Where is the airport at Limmasol? Is this a new one?
