My friends used Isopon in Girne opposite the porcelanosa shop said they were good and a reasonable price. They had the walls injected and balconies sealed. No problems since. If I remember it was 4000tl but that was at 4 to the pound.

A house up the road from us, has had an amazing job done on his place. It took 4 weeks (4men) and about 13,000GBP!!! Every inch of the house (externally) was covered in sheets of inch thick (what I can only describe as polystyrene). Then to that was screwed (right through to the concrete) 6ft lengths of thick rigid plastic with curved edges. Then the whole place was painted with a sort of matt gloss. The curved edges were then painted white and the whole finish is amazing. He says the property is as warm as toast and takes very little heating. The whole thing is supposed to be in reverse when its hot. He is a local developer, so what your normal Joe Bloggs would pay I haven't a clue!!!!

We have done this on our bungalow and also insulated the ceilings under the flat roof section of it.
The difference has been amazing. Cooler in summer but more importantly to me, much warmer in winter. Our neighbours have also had their entire house done and have also noticed the difference.

We have a suspended ceiling right through the house - it hangs of wires from the roof beams as there are no beans (horizontal) across the tops of the walls. I have been trying to source loft insulation like the type used in the UK (kind of rolls of fibre-ish glass) but have not found any yet. Anyone seen this sort of stuff around here?

You can purchase rockwool insulation in packs here. I am currently having it fitted into the suspended ceiling cavities in our new build. Try the larger building supply companies.

Have you tried I think it’s CEM in Karaoglanoglu, almost next door to Boray Development?

The house we had built here had a cavity wall system. A cavity wall system only works for a clean empty cavity, something that our house builder in the uk prided his work on. In my experience due to the incredibly low standard of building work here a clean empty cavity you will not find here. You will find one full of building rubble! Cavity insulation in my veiw in this country would be money down the drain!

Try Gepaz in Alsancak, I have just bought some of what I know as cavity batts to put in suspended ceilings, I think they have alternatives too.
Some are wise and some otherwise.....

Did it cost you £13,000? Was it expensive?

Well no actually because my husband did it. He has done it internally and plaster boarded and externally and rendered.
The ceilings he insulated and then plaster boarded. He used the blue insulation boards. It has made a tremendous difference. We still only have the summer duvet on the bed.
My neighbour's used a company so not sure what it cost them.

Thanks Panchocat on a DIY level 1-5 how difficult was this? I'm pretty handy but not a plasterer

He is pretty good and very patient with DIY. With that said he didn't think it was too difficult....
With the ceilings he had a friend help to put the plasterboard up as that is a 2 man job.
If you message me your number I can get him to ring you with skill levels etc.

I am resurrecting this thread to ask:
Can anyone recommend a company with the skills required to install insulation on the external surfaces of a house? I suspect that the effectiveness of the result will depend on the knowledge/care/quality of the installer. Thanks.
