Copying tapes to CDs

Is there anybody out there able, and willing, to copy 13 favourite tapes to CDs for me? I've tried various CD shops but with no success, but would really like to hear them again.

If these are commercial tapes, rather than personal recordings, why not download them from Isohunt, Pirate Bay et. al. and burn a CD from there. After all, you have already paid a royalty fee for the material so it is hardly piracy. Also, if they are very old, you will probably get a much higher quality from a more recent copy.

DW A couple of years or so ago the Kyrenia Library had a plan to transfer all the cassettes they held (mainly "Talking Books") onto CD.

I offered to loan them my own collection of Talking Books ( proper commercial recordings, many BBC) to copy for their collection and spoke to a very friendly man who was doing the recordings for them. It might be worth talking to the Library (their details are about two threads down) and finding out who did them.

My offer , incidentally, is still open to any genuine Charity or anyone who wants to copy them for the benefit of a visually impaired, housebound or disabled person, provided they take care and return them in reasonable time. I would also be interested in loan exchanges of talking books.

I found Ilkay today, but unfortunately their machine was broken, however, he phoned a friend, I think Olsun, facing the top of Tin Pan Alley, almost opposite Beyti Kebab and he can do the job, so I'm well pleased that I asked for help on this Forum. Thanks again.

You can buy a tape converter, which converts to mp3 onto a usb stick.
Then you can transfer it to a computer and burn a disc.

Not all of them work well though! Read reviews first.

I would second JBA's suggestion as being the most logical.
If you could get them copied, the quality would be poor-and as JBA states it's hardly piracy as you have already paid for them.
