Re: BBC Programme - Inside Europe
Watched the first part this afternoon a stark insight into the inflexibility of the EU, Cameron had no chance of achieving anything from day one.
By the way the second part is Monday and not Tuesday ... Don't want you to miss it .

Perhaps the BBC had a trade off for a Licence fee increase....What is it 26m issued at 4 quid a pop increase ...a cool £104m into the til.

That'll be it. They wont be able to keep it up for long.turtle wrote:Perhaps the BBC had a trade off for a Licence fee increase....What is it 26m issued at 4 quid a pop increase ...a cool £104m into the til.
The fact the presenter of Match of The Day feels he has to promote the narrative on his twitter account speaks volumes

Imagine how much happier us minions will be when the Tories finally manage to get rid of the Beeb and we all have to pay subscriptions to the 1% to watch Hundreds of channels of mostly advertising. Meanwhile the right wing press continues to con us that the BBC are all "Lefties". Its for our own good of course. Carry on doffing your cap to Lord Rothermere.

Maybe its too subtle for some to pick up on or just the usual double standards.Medjoul1 wrote:Meanwhile the right wing press continues to con us that the BBC are all "Lefties". Its for our own good of course. Carry on doffing your cap to Lord Rothermere.
Interesting couple of headlines on the same person;
Poor muslim chap denied a visa due to Trumps policy
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-india-38824358
Interestingly when we find out a little more about him
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-india-39138083
He turns from a Muslim into an Indian. Obviously that narrative went a bit wrong.
I guess it is a bit like the BBC's Middle East editor Jeremy Bowen explains " I'm given...We have to stay impartial but I have a little more latitude to take the audience a bit by the hand and take them in what I believe to be the direction towards understanding."
Occassionally Bowen gets a bit carried away taking us by the hand towards understanding
https://www.theguardian.com/media/2009/ ... complaints
But then he always has one of the royal family of the BBC to stick up for him
https://www.theguardian.com/media/2009/ ... iddle-east
Sometimes it goes too far framing its headlines
https://www.timesofisrael.com/bbc-regre ... attackers/
Looking forward to some examples of the Beeb being picked up for its pro right wing bias. Good luck finding them

It does beg the question how many people who reside in the TRNC actually have a BBC licence ?Medjoul1 wrote:Imagine how much happier us minions will be when the Tories finally manage to get rid of the Beeb and we all have to pay subscriptions to the 1% to watch Hundreds of channels of mostly advertising. I would also like to know out of all the mainstream presenters how many are right wing or even centre for that matter.
Does anyone know how much the Bloated Broadcasting Corporation spend on outsourcing programs as opposed to making them themselves ?

Re: BBC Programme - Inside Europe
The purpose of the original post was to give information about a 3 part programme entitled Inside Europe - 10 years of Turmoil.
Most of the posts are not about the programme but about the BBC.
So as not to confuse matters this topic is now locked.
If you wish to specifically discuss the programme Inside Europe please start a new topic. If you wish to discuss the BBC, licence fee or its programming in general please again start another topic.
I will say the programme Inside Europe is well worth watching
Thanks
