You might be able to get it at Tempo in Catalkoy in the new deli. They have a lot of stuff and they even had cottage cheese, so it's possible they might have some. Other than that maybe Illeli.

Many thanks I will try the two options. I want it to add to double cream for a roulade so I may try the yogurt beforehand and try adding some sugar. Again thanks

I've seen it in Ileli's in small jars.
The web has several suggestions - punch in 'Fromage Frais substitute'. Half and half cottage cheese and low fat yoghurt seems to be the answer and no doubt cheaper than an import.

Genghis is right - Ileli do sell it and have for a long time. It is the same brand as their double devon cream and is on the shelf next to that rather than with the cheeses. However, like everything here, stock is not always available.

They had it at either Erdener or Supreme (sorry cant remember which) at one time but dont know if it is there now (also on the same shelf as cream). You could also try the old Tempo (in Girne) as they often have unusual items.

I have a recipe that uses half double cream and half yoghurt . I dont know if that would fit with your recipe, but its gorgeous whipped up with soft fruit - particularly strawberries - and sugar to taste.
