Electronics devices in hand luggage
We are travelling out with Turkish Airlines from Edinburgh via Istanbul Ataturk, TA have confirmed that we can carry iPads etc on U.K. bound flights but did not make it clear if they had to go in hold baggage on the outward journey. I would appreciate anyone who has travelled recently letting me know if they were able to keep their devices in hand luggage. Thank you.

Re: Electronics devices in hand luggage
Just travelled with Turkish Airlines from Ercan into and out of Istanbul (not as transit passengers) and no problems at all. We had 3 smart mobile phones (mine. OH and 1 for use on holiday) and 2 laptops - in our hand luggage with no questions or problems. As usual we just had to take them out for the Xray scan but that is all. Same would apply to transit passengers.

You are not allowed to put electrical items in luggage for the hold they HAVE to go in hand luggage. At least with the four airlines I have travelled with in the past year.

Carry electrical items, sometimes they test them what what appears to be a Ken Dodd tickling stick sometimes not. Personally I wouldn't feel too safe putting anything too expensive in the hold

Re: Electronics devices in hand luggage
OK thanks for all the responses. I was allowed to carry my laptop with me as additional hand luggage into the cabin. Unfortunately I left it behind in the cabin locker on my flight to ISL ... duh! So I am now going through the process of recovering lost luggage...
