Lemar closing Catalkoy?
Lemar closed Catalkoy? Car park closed off and Supermarket shut? I am not suprised as there were very few customers going there - maybe too much competition.............

The shop has been divided into two units. Lemar are taking the smaller side and a ‘home depot’ shop have taken the other 3/4. According to a Lenard spokesman last week.

Big sign in window, 'Renovation in progress' might just explain the temporary closure, maybe?jimmyb wrote:Lemar closed Catalkoy? Car park closed off and Supermarket shut? I am not suprised as there were very few customers going there - maybe too much competition.............

Not to mention the numerous chemists, DIY stores, cafes, car hire outlets, currency exchange shops et al. Sadly, east of Girne is becoming as habituated as the western areas. In the not too far distant future, Girne and its environs will have become another Ayia Napa or Benidorm in my opinion. However, Lemar is not planning a closure there, just another renovation, apparently.sailingmike wrote:Not surprised, far too many supermarkets in that area now.

TS, how about childrens clothes shop, ladies clothes shops, nail parlours, mens barbers, second car lots, butchers, fruit and veg stores. (on top of your et al.) Its great to have a choice but it is reaching a silly state of affairs on the Girne - Lapta stretch.

No sure about the Pembe Gul market but it is on the flat there.
The Pia Bella market is held under cover very close to the hotels rear car park with flat paths. One of the stall holders is in a wheelchair

Thanks Woodspeckie that is what I needed to know . (Last time I went to Pia Bella, to a Christmas "Fayre" there was no space in the carpark and street parking was a nightmare even for the able bodied. I am so glad it has improved and am copying this to the Disabled Section.woodspeckie wrote:Two disabled parking spaces at the Pia Bella there is a cabin at the entrance with a very nice man to help you park all the spaces are on the flat.

I have not been i a Lemar for 6 months. I cannot understand why people use them. Their prices are ridiculous. They tried there buy 4 get one free that didn't work.

Sah. Perfect for the disabled shopper. Car parking, entrance, restaurant. The best rest room facilities I have used in TRNC, and of course the willingness of the staff to help. Than you Sah.

Re: Lemar closing Catalkoy?
Plus there are several disabled spaces all next to the entrance, the new trolleys actually go where you want them to, and the staff are friendly and helpful. My only quibble is that apart from one disabled toilet all the toilets are some steep stairs, which means those who dont need disabled toilets but are unable to climb steep stairs have to get the key from the checkout to use the disabled onesOlly wrote:Sah.
