Has anyone lost a Rotweiler we found a distressed one today on the lapta walkway it's a young male. It seems very docile and well trained and a good pedigree I would say. Our trouble is we have a male pug who is not too amused.
Any help or advice appreciated. 0533 8868360 He is obviously well trained walks well on and off a lead does not want to leave Susannes side.. All in all a lovely dog. Where is his owner!!!!

If you are able to take to a vet he might have a microchip...….

Will do but sadly I think he's been dumped.

My advice is keep him, he's come to you for a reason. Our doggie family has just increased by one as someone dumped a dog near us 2 weeks ago. My wife kicked and screamed at first but now she loves him to bits. We wouldn't give him up now.

Maybe have a browse on the local Facebook charity pages to see if one has been reported missing - you can also ask them to post for you to help find owner or home.. But from experience he will be snapped up quick into the wrong hands.

Has he been neutered ?

Update no microchip. No local vet recognise him. I am used to horses but have never seen such a well behaved dog. Pandemonium n Garfields this morning with a staffiy and two other dogs at each other's throats he just sat and watched them didn't even bark. Frontalman would love to keep him he follows the wife everywhere BUT the pug is also male and they hate each other the new dog is jealous if Susanne goes anywhere near the pug and the cats pissed off with the pair of them. We've had the pug and the cat for 5 years so it's their house.

We had the same problem, our other male dog fought with him for the first few days, but then they settled down once they'd sorted themselves out. It's difficult when any new dog comes into the pack, certainly not an impossible situation. You could consider yourselves blessed to be chosen.

I absolutely love rotties and if it wasn't for the fact we had 4 dogs already, I'd have him like a shot. Please don't let him go to just anybody, check the people out first and if at all possible where they are going to home him. Dogs like him could easily find themselves in the totally wrong hands which would be dreadful.

We also had the same problem when we rescued another dog. We had a male and a female and the new young incomer was a male. Hierarchy was worked out among themselves and to this day the female is still top dog. The original male conceded his place in the pack to the incomer.
Good luck. He sounds lovely I hope you persevere with him, sounds like he has landed on his paws with you.
