Why are holidays to TRNC so expensive?
I have just been looking for a last minute holiday to Lapta from Manchester. I could not believe the price £1409 for 7 days b&b in a 3 star hotel . What has happened to make prices so expensive ?
We have recently booked a 14 day all inclusive holiday in May to Mexico in a 5 star hotel and it cost less than this.
I know that the TL is weak against the pound but it still seems that the price is very high. I am afraid our bi annual holiday to the lovely N Cyprus Will not happen this year

Blame the airlines they can charge what they like it seems.

As carrierbag said, check out Cyprus Paradise and their "all inclusive deals" i.e. inclusive of air fare. I wouldn't touch a 3 star hotel here, with a ten foot barge pole.

Why?
Choose your spouse, friend, relative, in difficult days. On a good day, no one shows their purity.

A friend recently stayed here in a 5star hotel. Surly staff no tv in the room but a remote control for it no tea or coffee making facilities no water in the pool.

Quite a throw away comment Sophie ...…. I visit a 3 star hotel twice a year for three weeks walking distance to Kyrenia harbour.
It is a family run hotel with 24 rooms, the staff are very friendly & greet me every visit with a hug.
Being a lone traveller this is very important to me, the coldness of a large 5* would not suit me
I should of added Cyprus Paradise use this hotel

Horses for courses. My experience of 3 Star here have been terrible. Cold rooms, cold food, cold water, barely anywhere to store clothes, cold staff, who would have rather been anywhere else. Granted this was a number of years back but somewhat coloured my opinion. Not even sure they are still up and running. They were in the Harbour area as well.

It was Malpas booked through Cyprus Paradise its the first time she has had a bad experience with them after travelling here for many years. Since been told by an employee that the hotel is up for sale and the staff havnt been paid for 10 months.

Interestingly Cyprus Paradise still show the Malpas on their website (following the link posted above in message 4). I did wonder whether they are keeping up with things at all at all!

You hear that quite a bit with hotel and casino staff.Deniz1 wrote:Since been told by an employee that the hotel is up for sale and the staff havnt been paid for 10 months.
Over supplied demand. Problem is they are all in denial, if ever you ask they always say they have 90 odd percent residency which is pretty impossible unless they think 95% for two weeks in August is how you measure it

Trip Advisor have some very bad write ups about Malpas. Such a shame it used to be a lovely hotel.

I find that booking direct with the hotel is always a better option. Friends are enjoying the Acapulco for 500tl a night at the moment.

I like the Deniz Kizi hotels. Mr Niyazi knows how to make guests happy. Great location & value, good well appointed clean rooms, good service and tasty food. I love his restaurants too in Kyrenia, Nicosia and Famagusta! I have two wedding parties using the Deniz Kizi this year!

They paid £500 for 10 days full board and flight. Only ate there twice.

Have some friends who have been there over the past couple of weeks. Awful place, would not touch with a very large barge pole. Think they are only interested in the profits from the casino..... a definite no no. Don't go there.....

Never fancied Malpas after we saw what sort of welcome you get at the airport ,from rather young women in tight fitting dresses! Might be ok for some but not for us thank you.

I think you will find the meet and greet service is for wealthy casino customers who woukd likely be delighted . Ivery much doubt they woukd send some dolly birds to pick up average joe blog.
