Does anybody know the reason for non collection of refuse in the Esentepe area this week please?

Their refuse truck was “kaput” so they ended up using a flatbed truck.

The rubbish in the eastern area of the Esentepe district has not been collected for two weeks, including several restaurants and collective estates. Thankfully, the rain has dampened the smell from the bin areas. Belidiye shrug when approached for information as to when, but there again, the front of house staff cannot answer for the Mayor.

Apparently the dustbin lorry got crushed and they now have a new one. As a result they now have a backlog of bins to empty. We were told that our bins will be emptied over the next couple of days.... so probably next week at some point.

Village collections commenced on Tuesday - so should be back to normal next week.

Interesting no other work is being done in the village and this has been the case for a while now.

Off topic, as not rubbish-related, but given Art's comment on the lack of work going on in the village, I expect that given the number of workers and plant being used on the Başkan's pet 'beach project', there is nobody left to work on important issues like roads, bins etc!

Spot on Tom.

In the meantime the approach road to the village is looking shabby and neglected.

This has been going on for some time now.

Sat 13th Apr, no collection in the east of Bahceli area for four weeks now. Maybe if the Başkan lived out this way, things like rubbish collection, road/pavement repairs and street cleaning might happen?

Ours have not been emptied yet either and with the Easter holidays starting, the situation is only going to get worse. They are already overflowing.

I am taking it the bin men don’t work weekends so it will be Monday at the earliest.

At least they have emptied the beach rubbish bins from crystal bay. We had helped a couple do a bit of cleaning up down there at the beginning of the week, so glad to see it wasn’t just going to blow back on it.

I think we have had a collection on a Saturday before and to be honest, if they are so far behind, they should be working the weekend to help to catch up.

Bins emptied today Sunday at Sunset Valley at 9.30 am,hope the driver and his mate get paid, I had heard that the council staff have not been paid for months. It’s unbelievable that with all the money collected when we were told nearly two years ago by the Baskan to pay up or not get Turkish water, still we have no Turkish water and the money paid
Is probably being used for the Baskans pet project the beach. Wish we were under Tatlisu council !

Likewise on bin collection at last after 4.5 weeks and the wish to be under the care of Tatlisu with a mayor and council who look after everybody and not exclude the expats in the area. Living right on the border of Esentepe/Tatlisu is even more frustrating.

Could we not just move the sign posts in middle of the night?
