Blue line on roads

Hi, does anyone know what the thin, blue, painted line is for that’s appeared on quite a few roads here lately?

Kyrenia marathon track markings for last Sunday I believe.

Thank you so much for putting that on! When my husband and I drove down to Alsancak yesterday, he was mystified about the blue lines, and even more so when it looked like one of them had done a U-turn and gone back, lol. So many scenarios went through his mind including whether it was a cycle lane, etc etc etc - so again thank you, mystery solved! and my sanity has returned : )

It was the 21km run route

We came across it last Sunday and we had to smile, when there was the occasional wobble in the "thin blue line".
