Hi everyone

I would like to hire a 7 seat car from the north in August for 18 days and would like to drive it to the south sometime, is there any company in the north with a 7 seater that allows that?

Your help is much appreciated

I remember Oscar had a 7 seater and they did allow to go South. They are based in Girne.
And are the tel numbers: 05428510702-8152272-8151068 . Seems like their website is down.

Pacific Car Rentals in Girne allow their cars to go to the South. They have some 7-seaters. See http://www.pacific-rentals.com/step-by-step-south.asp for their charge, conditions, and advice in taking cars to the South.

The ones I know of are Oscars, Baspinar (for 7+ days) and Esentepe Brisk. I'm there as we speak and rented from Baspinar as they had better insurance than Oscars, and as for Brisk I had a shady experience with them last summer.

Baspinar will charge £5 for the written permit to exit the TRNC.
Each time you exit the TRNC, show this with your passport (or ID card+entry-exit form) to Turkish border police.

NOTE, the first entry to EU Cyprus must be at the Metehan crossing, Mon-Fri 8-14.

On the EU side, present your passport/ID to border police, then park the car and go to the desk next to passport control. There, present your car logbook (a black-and-white paper with gibberish info about the car), and you'll get a road tax document handed to you.
Take that to the adjacant insurance booth (there are two, but the insurance and price - €25 - are identical). Show the logbook, road tax document and driving licence, then pay for the insurance.

After that, you can cross where- and whenever you like, but again always present the vehicle exit permit at Turkish exit control.

NOTE: passports aren't stamped at the land border anymore, for your information to avoid any surprises.
