Introduction
I registered on here recently and thought i'd "pop in" and say hello.
I had looked for a general chit-chat thread where people can just talk about nothing in particular but unless i've missed it...
Anyway my wife Mandy, (she's one of the M's in MnM), and i, having been holidaying in TRNC since 2012, are currently in the process of buying a Villa in Esentepe after many years of searching and saving. We have TC friends in Ozankoy and other places and plan to retire there as well, hence the Villa rather than an apartment.
So here's me saying hello and looking forward to everything that lies ahead.
Martin (the other M in MnM, but not the second one).

Please check the water supply situation to your property before purchase. It could cost you another 8K TL, if the house is not, currently, on mains supply.

Welcome to the forum and North Cyprus. Do good research before you buy property, you should get some good advice from members here. Can make a difference of living in paradise or not. Good luck and enjoy.

Welcome to Esentepe, local also. Tom Steel has the price been set now? Thought it was still up in the air. But then again there are people in the know and those who are not. Knowledge is power obviously?

Re: Introduction
The price for metering, infrastructure costs, deposit and piping from street to house for non-connected properties was quoted very recently as 7.8 K TL (1.06K £) per property. Cost per tonne is, currently, 4.5 TL. However, the Bashkan has, apparently, the authority to raise prices as he sees fit. There is an organisation opposing his charging policy at Omsbudsman level, but has had limited influence thus far. I can PM you a contact for this organisation, should you wish.

Thanks for the heads up ref water tomsteel. I believe it is already connected as it is a resale Villa. Not sure how old though but British couple currently living there.
