With Amazon winning rights to show football and general streaming, it is advisable to change some settings on the sticks and Amazon box's.

You need to Stay 3 steps ahead in this cat and mouse game people!

So to protect your stick from the next Amazon update it is suggested

My settings are all as above most probably because of something Navek has posted on here before so no problem with that. I don't understand why there will be a problem just because Amazon now have rights to football and some streaming. Could you explain please?

As chriswright03 says, can you be a bit more specific. I and a friend of mine have just had what we are told is the most up to date Firesticks installed by Yen. If we need to have something altered then I'm sure he will oblige.

This alert was intended for the many not the few who get sports and films from unorthodox means. As Amazon have bought into premier league matches this will be the start of blocking!

Thanks for the tips Dan, I’ve just applied them to mine.

Had to manually update IPTV Smarters as it had stopped working. Working fine now though.

One question though... won’t it get to the point where the Amazon Firestick stops working and therefore forces me to update the firmware?

OK Dan thanks for that but will it still be able to block if I use Streamvia do you think?

The above settings should be easily managed. Those who are able to clear their cache, will be familiar with the Settings options.

The guide is clear and should be followed. Those who have difficulties, know what to do!

Nice one Dan for putting this up and for sharing this with us all.

So after all of the useful advice above, guess who accidentally pressed update and wiped out my iptv?

I thought I was updating my iptv app but never read the instructions carefully. Even though automatic updates etc was turned off, it popped up with a prompt saying it needing updating. By the time I realised, it was at the ‘do not turn turn off your device or I will never work again’ stage.

I managed to reinstall it and after lots of messing about / googling / emails to my iptv go to man, I managed to get it working again, but it was quite a chew on.
