Skype Calls
Hi I am unable for some reason to make skype calls to landlines and mobiles even though I am in credit . All other aspects of Skype work fine.
Is anyone else having or had the same problem ?
My internet provider is NetHouse . Thanks

.. .
Did it work OK previously?
Are you entering the correct Country Code for the Country that you are calling? (0044 / 0090 etc)
From which Country are you calling?
To which Country are you calling?
If the answer to the first two questions is 'Yes', then try signing out, uninstalling, reinstalling, and sign back in...

Re: Skype Calls
Just did a quick test calling from skype to my telsim/vodaphone mobile and it was working as far as causing my mobile to ring. I did not answer but that far it was working fine here. Also just tried to UK 0800 number and that was working fine too, got through and got the automated menu on the end of the 0800 number

Re: Skype Calls
Multimax but I would not assume it is definitely provider related unless I had tried the same devices on a different connection first (if you are any where near lapta and wanted to try on my connection more than happy to offer such).buddy wrote:Erol

Re: Skype Calls
I'd also tried ringing UK and TRNC mobile and landline numbers before I posted my response. I didn't think that it would be very helpful to give 'historical' info when you're having an issue 'here and now'
If you suspect that it may be ISP related, I suppose that you could try using a VPN, or try using Skype on a smart phone / 3G connection rather than your home internet connection...

Re: Skype Calls
One last thing you might want to try, if any of the non working devices have a physical ethernet port, would be to try it with your nethouse connection plugged directly into that single device. This removes your home router / internal network from the equation. If it still does not work this way then you can present all that info to your ISP and that should help them investigate your problem.Keithcaley wrote:That's good - at least you now know where the issue lies...buddy wrote:Thanks for advise tried another internet provider and it worked !!!

Re: Skype Calls
Possibly the one suggestion that we didn't make was "turn off the Router and the power to the ISP dish, wait a minute or so, and then turn it back on again".
I wouldn't be at all surprised if powering down the router - by disconnecting it - and then powering back up was the thing that resolved the issue
