Private parties - noise regulations?

A villa across the ravine from us in Ozankoy has now had 4 all night very loud parties, the music is still pumping out at 6.30! A neighbour said the police would not be interested does anybody know what the regulations are & who to complain to?

It’s worth the phone call, and yes there are regulations.

I've been at a Birthday party at a private villa when the Police arrived at 11pm and ordered the music to be turned off, which was obviously in response to a complaint - and the music was not particularly loud either, so I would say that it's well worth a 'phone call.

I totally agree with KC. Provided no one is related to the police in question, they can and will close the party down if necessary or at least make sure the music is turned off.

Hi Ozanköys

After the night we had this week we spoke to our Cypriot neighbours and they said the police will come out so that’s what we are going to do next time... so yes it’s worth a try

It’s so selfish of people not to think about people around them

I’ve been hearing this too and wondering where it’s coming from!

Why don’t you just go round there and tell them to have some respect and turn it down/off?!
If that doesn’t work, then call the 5.0.

As there are an unknown number of Afro/Caribbean people partying away I really do not think it worthwhile going round to try & have a friendly word - some got lost looking for the party & disturbed our neighbours @ 3 am Sunday morning.
Will try the police as people suggest, thanks.

Tell the police you think it's a drug-fuelled party....

I don’t see what difference the nationally/race makes, noise is noise and if it’s intrusive and/or a nusisance, they should be asked nicely at first. If unsuccessful, then call the PoPo.

A villa near a customer's house is rented out, seems to be young people just at weekends, and he woke one sunday morning to find his drive full of cars and on looking over his wall several of the above mentioned people around his neighbours pool. He admitted himself he was worried knocking on the door to ask them to tone it down at night plus more importantly move the cars. He said they were so pleasant and apologetic and has not had any trouble with them since. Maybe leave a note, they in this case seemed educated and english was well spoken.

Some villas are rented out without the owners knowledge for pop-up brothels... Girls from 'nightclubs' are bussed in for all weekend wild benders and then bussed back to their prisons... We know this for a fact.

I had heard of this happening at hotels, where guests already staying, were offered a trip up to the Karpaz for a couple of nights or similar, so don't know why I was surprised about this use for private accommodation.

OHHHH PLEASE......”we know this for a fact”. 1) this isn’t anything to do with this post, 2) where are the “facts” and 3) why not present these “facts” to the police?!

OOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHH!

We know for a fact because we witnessed the events and the owners villa was left in a dreadful state with puke everywhere and rubbish thrown over the boundary into the local landscape He now no longer accepts booking from the agent and the origin of the people who leased. It's not our villa so it's up to him to report.. or the girls who left in tears having been abused for a weekend but I guess they'd be too scared to go the police or not able to get away from their ever present 'minders'. To all intents and purposes it would seem like a private noisy party (the subject of this thread) but the girls being bussed in and the state they left in and the state of the villa were all too evident.

Given that the mafia run the prostitution here what would you do?

Well the party is going on again now...so if you find it, perhaps you can report it to the police?
