Pink Booklet

Have just returned home from the Immigration Office in Lefkosa and have read the 'Pink' booklet they gave me (when I asked the lady at the Immigration Office what the booklet was when she gave it to me she said it was the Police book), which says on the inside of the rear cover "If for any reason you wish to stay in Cyprus for more than one month : a) Two weeks after you arrive in Cyprus you will report for registration to the Superintendent of Police of the district in which you reside."
Does this mean that every time I leave the TRNC and then return to it irrespective if it is a trip back to the UK for a couple of weeks or a day trip to the South, I have to take this 'Pink booklet' to the Girne Police Station within 2 weeks of returning?

What is the purpose and use of the 'Pink booklet'.

I await your replies with interest..

if you want to visit sites like st Hilarion, vou will pay the local price if you show it.
Its an ID which shows you have qualified for staying in the TRNC, proof of your address and a picture ID

And no you do not have to go to the police station if you leave, it actually advises if you want to stay for more than a month, mine stated 3 months and after 1 month report to the police for the process of residency which you have just completed. Well done!

A lot of people moan about only getting residency in the temporary category but before my beyaz kimlik I often used to produce my 'blue book' and the majority of people used to say yes you are one of us of course indirim!

Production of the Blue/Pink book is much better than production of the BRS card - well that is what I have found anyway - Keep it with you whenever you are out and about and if you ever change address make sure your new address is put in the book! It is a very useful little thing to have and to hold.

Well done for completing the process and gaining one.
No matter how hard the past, you can always begin again.

snd1966 and waddo, many thanks for your quick replies
However they do raise the question -- WHAT ELSE CAN I NOW HAVE AT LOCAL PRICES AND FROM WHERE?
Please let me know.

I believe it says in the pink book you have to inform the police. When we renewed our residency this year, having done just that (changed address), we asked at the Immigration Office in the police station in Girne about changing the pink book. We received the grumpy reply “Immigration Office”. That office didn’t want to know. So it’s still the same (old) address.

Thanks so much Mowgli597. Maybe I won't bother til we renew and see what answer we get then! Not that we've moved yet so maybe it won't even occur!!

When we moved from Alsancak to Esentepe in 2006 we took our books into the police station, just the main desk. They wrote Esentepe on a new page and signed it. Fortunately they didn't write down the street name as it changed in the 2010 census.

I got into Girne castle at local price a couple of years back. That's the only time I've used mine. The three others with me had to pay full price!!
