Following a Dream....A True Story.
For the last few months I have been seriously thinking about my own personal Bucket Wish dreams and if they are actually attainable. So I made a list of the possible Doable ones and a list of the Never Gonna Happen ones. Needless to say the Never Gonna Happen ones far outweighed the Doable ones, which was kinda depressing seeing as owning my own island and being 21 again are seen as completely undoable. But then I sat down with a beer or few and actually thought about my life and what doable opportunities I actually let slip by. Turns out, I let a whole bunch slip by, but also I am enormously fortunate to be able to say that a bunch more I actually did!! I am not going to bore the pants off you by telling you all about the mad stuff I've done...I will leave that for another time and day, and definitely much more beer!!
However, there is one dream that I have dreamed about since ı was about 5 years old, one that would drive my mom insane, and that was to sing...I always wanted to sing.....
When I was put to bed early for being naughty, which was very often, I would sing at the top of my voice until my voice broke and I got too tired to carry on...I would sing all night long if that's what it would take. I didn't care that my mom would be yelling at me '' SAMMMMMMY!!! Put a sodding lid on it!!! I really didn't care...I actually liked the sound and the music that l did that lulled me to sleep. By the time I hit my teens, my mom would actually ask me to sing her a song, usually in the car when the 8 track broke (remember those massive 8 track cassettes?) So I would happily burst into song and give it everything I got, and if I am honest, those are some of the most amazing memories I have.
Then over time, life took over. Singing a favourite song was kept in the bedroom or the shower...shyness and confidence would overide any desire to sing to anyone but the mirror...and so life went along, cigarettes, beer, and screaming lyrics at full volume at a concert eventually destroyed the vocal chords, if indeed there were any to start with...I was a child afterall when I loved doing this singing malarkey.
OK....So, scoot along about 30 years....and I am now dating an enormously talented guy, who I absolutely adore, and who is also a music producer...
and after a year and a half, I confessed my dream of making a recording, but that I doubt I could ever do. He looked at me with incredulity, and said...(I kid you not) 'Sam...lets do it...lets make that song....I wanna record you...I am gonna record you...if it's "ooops", then at least you can say you tried'
So...with his confidence in me, and his pushing to work vocal chords that I didn't know existed...we got this....
For most folk it may sound rubbish, but for me a life time dream has been realised and I just want to share it to prove to myself and to anyone who has a dream...anything is possible, don't just sit on a wish...get out there and do it, it truly is the most liberating thing you could possibly do!!
If you like it, do give it a thumbs up and a share....and know that every like/share is a small building block to building the confidence that everyone should have....
I thank you for taking the time to having a listen.....
Take a chance, take a risk.....just do what you need to do.....

Not a lover of covers usually but Sam/DD has got this one nailed. You've done Dusty Springfield proud. Now you've got to work on some more in the Bucket List. Of course it does help if you're dating a record producer!! Go Girl.

Re: Following a Dream....A True Story.
Oh My Goodness!! I can honestly say I am in a bit of shock....Over 400 views!! I thought I might possibly get about 50 with promoting ect...but 400!!???? This is extraordinary! And not one negative review...I really don't know what to say. And all just because I wanted to complete one bucket list item...
It really just goes to say that truly nothing is impossible...and I can't deny it..I am feeling a bit like a rock star right now....the only thing left to do is throw a TV out of a hotel window!! hahhaaha
But seriously....enormous thanks and gratitude....I can't think of a more meaningful word than humbled right now... thank you <3

Let us know when you throw the TV from hotel window. Advise you do it from a ground floor room.
Re: Following a Dream....A True Story.
Oh Soner...I have been saying I want to do that my whole life! To throw a tv out of a skanky hotel window....Wicked!!!
