The Greek Cypriot leader’s assessment is that the management of natural riches is the subject of sovereignty, so the unrecognised ‘Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus cannot be granted such a right.
‘Politis’ claimed that President Akıncı gave a positive reaction to the proposal offered by Anastasiades at the 9 August meeting, when he requested the proposal in writing. The proposal, which was also reviewed was recorded as sent to Akıncı.
It added that Turkey’s Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu had given no answer to the proposal and that it believed any acceptance by Turkey of Anastasiades’ revenue-sharing proposal was unlikely.

I think it's a proposal from Nik to appear to be doing something to the UN hoping Turkey will stop drilling. He still wants to carry on from where he finished inCrans Montana. It's wasting time again.

This is something at which GC politicians excel...terry2366 wrote:...It's wasting time again.
As long as they avoid actually recognising TRNC or doing anything concrete to help the occupants, they can avoid the disapprobation of their electorate, whilst engaging in pointless and fruitless 'talks' which are supposed to give the illusion of meaningful activity...

I quite agree with them, the TRNC is unrecognised (apart from by Turkey) the rest of the world knows it as "Occupied Territory" of the RoC! That given, the people who, through no fault of their own, live in the occupied territory of the RoC must then be able to have a full share of any of the Islands' resources! It is not the fault of the people living in the occupied territory that the RoC has abandoned them, even through the RoC still maintains that such territory belongs to the RoC and therefore all the resources in the occupied territory belong to the RoC by default. Where is my share Nik????
Interesting that a Turkish Cypriot, who has to live in the occupied territory, can also hold an EU RoC passport yet the regulations on the RoC website clearly state that to do so and be a citizen of the RoC you must reside there for a minimum of 6 months in every year - yet another bending of the rules by Nik and his government!
It's good ere init????

No matter how hard the past, you can always begin again.
