Dental costs

Allthough dental treatment can be considered very reasonable here in the TRNC, however the cost for a clean and polish ,which cost 150tl on my first visit my second visit 180tl and today 200tl all within twelve months, surley they can't use the euro excuse , has anyone else had the same experience ?

Not sure about € being the reason for increased costs, however, the minimum salary has increased, electricity costs have increased, fuel costs have increased and premises costs have also risen, import taxes will also have risen. These costs get passed on to clients using professional services - 'tis a fact of commercial life.

Actually a full scale and polish for 200tl is extremely reasonable. Try and get that in the UK!!! And to all intent and purposes, virtually NO WAITING. Plus, go to the same place for all your work, implants, fillings and whatever, and almost without exception you are offered an indirim. It's a win, win situation. Can't fault it.

Frugal90 I do not know where you get these prices from but an examination costs around £25 from the NHS, xrays are covered in this cost, the fees go up in stages

Are that explains it, you didn't mention that. Scots seem to get away with a lot i.e. free University education for one, not to mention, highly subsidised medical fees.

Given the various advantages and benefits that Scotland (and also Wales) appear to have, how about independence (or at least significant autonomy) from London for England - or at least the West country and the North of England...?

Last week.I paid £80 at my UK dentist. The hygienist cost £45, that doesn't come under the NHS, but she is worth every penny and £35 was for a check.up and redoing a filling that had fallen out the night before my appointment.
