Hi : What are 3 of your most favourite songs/pieces of music and what sentiments/memories do they evoke? 3 of my particular favourites are.

SWEET CHILD OF MINE by GUNS N ROSES, because, although she is always in my thoughts, when I hear this it reminds me of how much I miss my daughter as she is so far away.

GENIE IN A BOTTLE by CHRISTINA AGUILARA, it was playing on the radio in all the shops and bars on our first holiday abroad, to North Cyprus. And

HOME THOUGHTS FROM ABROAD by CLIFFORD T WARD, just because it is a beautiful song

You are going to hate me: ye,s really!

1. the Immolation scene from Wagner's 'Gotterdamerung'

2. Elgar's third symphony.

3. the Liebestod from Tristan and Isolde.

why? Cos they all touch my soul and remind me of former lives!

Actually I could list loads and loads of others which could be my 1st, 2nd and 3rd, but these are the ones that first come to mind.
and in ca\se you didn't realise - I am a bit of a square!

Like politics and religion, music is a matter of personal choice and because there is so much to choose from it would be a bit boring if we all liked the same.

I was more interested really in the memories or emotions that peoples choice of music invoked.

I found yours very interesting.

My first has to be Doctor Hook, 'love you a little bit more''. This is the first record my man bought
for me. But on playing the 'B' side, ''who's gonna iron my shirts?''.....

Second, Simon and Garfunkle, 'bright eyes', this was number 1 on the day our daughter was
born, and Oh her eyes were so bright, still are in fact.

Third, Lighthouse family, 'Lost in space', this reminds me of chill out evenings after a long hard
stressfull day at work. Nice hot bath, glass of wine...Ahhhhh

Like Marion, I like classical, also love panpies, and could eat Andrea Bocelli, my list could go on and on,
How fortunate are we to have such a vast choice of music to choose from?

"Bright Eyes" also brings back memories for me - it reminds me of the school exchange visit we did in the French Alps ... and in particular the many parties and discos we had there ... if the DJ started to play "Bright Eyes" you knew you had to get your act together and ask the girl you'd be eyeing up all evening ... after all, that smoochy record was to be the last of the evening.

However, "Bright Eyes" is not one of my "favourite three" - the following would be contenders for that accolade:

Frankie's "The Power of Love"

Alphaville's "Forever Young"

Toto's "Africa"

All from my sixth form or first-year-uni days.
