15,000 Brits applied for ROC residence after Brexit
I thought that this article in the (South) Cyprus Mail might be of interest to some - it's too long to post in full, so here's a link: 15,000 Britons applied for Cyprus residence after Brexit.

And, prices have risen over night from 9+20 Euros to 18+50 Euros per application. Additional costs for ID and Passport.

Confused of Alsancak. I thought I read a couple of years back that they, like many in Spain were anxious to leave and get back to UK, mainly those who wanted the NHS etc. I've obviously missed something somewhere.

Some of them, quite possibly, but quite obviously not all of them - any more than everyone on this side has the same inclinations or motivations!sophie wrote:Confused of Alsancak. What is happening is a lot of Cypriots both Turkish and Greek from/in UK, TRNC and RoC, are applying for dual citizenship so as to have both UK and EU passports at hand.

Not surprising,
I've applied for an Irish passport under dual nationality..
Freedom to travel, work and live in Europe is very important to me.
I feel European too.as well as, of course, British.

I have a friend here in TRNC who has an Isle of Man Passport (not born there, nor were any members of her family) and I understand she will have no problems either.

Rumour has it that in certain EU states.
An address , a good bank balance and a supported application could secure a European passport.
Not an easy option but if you need to travel freely in Cyprus and the EU then a possible solution.

I suspect "a good bank balance" would be far to rich to most of the people I know!
