Removal UK to KKTC
Researching costs. Would like to hear from anyone who has shipped a container to KKTC with household goods. I see Dolphin and Olytrans appear to be the main shippers. I wonder if anyone who has done this could give me a ball park figure of costs and any pitfalls. Also heard that a guy called Ramadan Kelebek 0533/8602589 does overland removals. Wondered if anyone has used him.

Get a quote from Emel shipping too: http://emelshipping.net
They have been sponsors of this site since the start.
Have used Ramadan overland service several times. Can take time to get here and if not packed well, boxes get battered on journey. Can't knock them on price and effort.

Contact Euromed - website: http://www.euromed-uk.com. London phone number: 0208 365 8888. They run very regular shipping services to Famagusta. Have used them on a number of occasions - they do containers and also split loads. Have aways found them very competitive on prices. Their website contains a page on the specifics of moving to TRNC which you might find useful.
Their Famagusta number is: 0392 23655961/2

We moved here almost 3 years ago, we used Euromed as posted above.
We paid £2000 for. 20ft container door to door. We packed the contained in the UK and it was unpacked by Euromed into the rooms we required it in. We did not had one thing broken which was a China serving dish lid, mind you we did pack it rather well if I'm honest.
Fully recommend them

Re: Removal UK to KKTC
Hi
We moved here a year ago and used Dolphin. They cost £4000. The only time we saw a guy employed by Dolphin was the assessor. After that they subbed out the packing, the container collection from our home in UK, shipping, delivery in TRNC and unpacking.
The customs work was also done by us at their direction from the shop in Karakum, where they gave us the paperwork. We had been told this would all be done by them by the assessor. A big fib!
I did a lot of research and had many quotations from other carriers (not those recommended in this thread) but I discovered they were all sub-contracting the work to Dolphin anyway just adding a considerable sum.
We did have breakages that cost us a couple of hundred quid and some items that we can’t replace.
Overall a stressful and poor experience
Hope this helps
Kind regards
Lasagne

There are many recommendations for Emel and for KMR Logistics, both of whom support this forum by advertising on here...

Olaytrans are brilliant. Their agents in the UK Greens are first class.
When we shipped our good s out in 2005 we used Dolphin using their full door to door packing service. There was a lot of damage to our furniture etc. They lost the container and it was eventually located in Port Said.
We used Olaytrans to ship our goods back to the UK in May this year. Brilliant service the packing was exceptional ( the two chaps came from the south) they spent two days packing, very professional.
The container arrived in the UK London Gateway on time. Greens Olaytrans agents in the UK were also brilliant. They arranged all the customs clearance and delivery to our storage facility in Tunbridge Wells. The whole move went like clockwork. Greens are your people in the UK. AP
We got a quote from Dolphin although competitive, their packing service sounded iffy. Emel did not even bother to come out to quote, they use students to pack. All they are interested in is shipping cars.
One word of warning do not ship your goods as groupage. It is no more expensive to have your own dedicated container for peace of mind.

Dolphin were great in the UK, but (moderated) in the TRNC. At least that was our experience.

Our experience also but they were called Aero Freight Cargo then. Don’t understand why they have never dealt with the same problems that people have experienced over a long time.sophie wrote:Dolphin were great in the UK, but a bunch of freeloading sh=====s in the TRNC.
