I repeat. Non-UK Government immigrants entering the UK have not got £350 for visas. Where is their money coming from, irrespective of your wife's UK declared status?

British people in general have double standards. The majority voted for brexit one of the main reasons was to control immigration when north cyprus starts to strengthen its immigration control due to over population etc look at all the response. Theres an old english saying whats good for the goose is good for the gander.

So, maybe the UK should apply the same legislation for TC citizen's, irrespective of their 'passport status'?

Ive still no idea what you are talking about ? The fee for a uk visa is £93 for 6 mnths and £350 for more than that. I have absolutely no idea what you are going on about ? Please dont just repeat the same thing as it makes zero sense in the context of my original post which i presume you have misread or failed to comprehend.

For us bemused bystanders -
clarification re costs of visas - here
request for clarification - "...I repeat. Non-UK Government immigrants entering the UK have not got £350 for visas...." Errrh - Haven't they? I don't know....
request for clarification - are those "merely" visiting classed as "immigrants"? If so, should all "Swallows" in TRNC actually be classed as immigrants?

A Pakistani national friend of mine, living and working in the TRNC recently went on holiday with his family to the USA. He was transiting via UK airport and had a 12 hour plus connection. They investigated what would be required to leave transit in UK for the 12 hours or so, to get a cheap motel room and their understanding was they would require UK visas for himself and all his family, at the price of £93 per person, just to be able to spend 12 hours in the UK outside of airport transit. Also the process of applying for and securing such visa, as such a national living here in the TRNC, was next to impossible in any case in any sort of practical way. Not the sort of story you are likely to read in the Daily Mail.

The method that you should use to request an 'administrative action' on the forum is to either click on the 'Report Post' button, select a suitable reason from the drop-down list/compose a freehand request OR email/PM Soner.

There is no certainty that your request will be seen (by anyone able to do anything about it) if you simply post it on a thread,

Uk expats are lucky here compared to whats going to happen elsewhere. Post brexit (if it ever happens ) heres the criteria to become a permanent resident in cyprus ...a place not to far away.

http://www.patroclos.com.cy/cyprus-perm ... dency-visa

Summary : 300000 euro in cyprus property plus €30000 on deposit plus €30000 per year income plus €5000 per deoendent! This would be for new post brexit uk expats.

I appreciate frontalmans comment that up to now for over 60 s its been easy . I also am aware that as a citizen i wont have to comply so perhaps i have a bias . But i did pay residency etc for 5 years and had no oroblem with it . But when people start saying they are leaving because they dont want to pay £60 i think they need a reality check as per my inttiall post .. I wont post on this thread any more as ive said all i need. Close the thread ?! Perhaps people dont like reading the truth and this is a bit close to home ! Imagine the uproar if the uk immigration rules where as lax as here !

I think the BRS should be congratulated for opening a massive can of worms.

Total confusion and uncertainty now prevails.

Well done BRS (of which I am a member)
