New build: final approval questions

Evening all

Can any forum member provide information as to who officially undertakes "final approval" for a new build project please?

I would also like to know how long the "final approval" process takes and, if a considerable amount of time, if anything can be done to speed up the final approval process.

TIA

The builder would normally undertake the Final Approval process in conjunction with the architect. The Belediye correlates the process obtaining certification from all the departments i.e., structural, civil & electrician engineering, highways, electricity, fire, telephone the file is then submitted to the Land Registry to check boundaries then process the completion.
It is a lengthy process & is of course more complicated when multiple properties have been built on one parcel of land.

My builder would have nothing to do with getting final approval, "Just pop into Distrct Office and they will do it all for you" he said. Took me three years to get it and one of the important bits is checking your local authority requirements. Having got final approval for the building regulations, we then had another year sorting out boundary problems as we had two square metres that did not belong to us. Had the pavement laid and had to do it all again as it did not meet Lapta's instructions. Had help from a local chap in the end and his parting words to me were "Never again"!!!!!!!
