How can I release messages stuck in Outbox?

Message (PM) stuck in Outbox.

Your message will remain in your outbox until collected by the recipient
and can be deleted or edited before they read it if you wish.

Soner, I tried suggesting before that the only way to stop these repeated queries about stuck messages is to display a message to this effect when a pm is submitted......

Thanks Groucho, I have displayed message "Note: Messages will remain in your Outbox until receiver opens it." on several pages of the User Control Panel and when a PM has been sent out.
