Does anyone know the answer? Arrived back mid December coming through Metehan, no stamp on passport and told nothing as we were in a taxi. If we go to say Lapta police station would they be able to check and say if we had 30 or 90 days?

The default seems to be 30 days. Worth a try at the police station but you may have to go to immigration if you want it extended anyway.

It should be 90 for people who are not living here surely.
Some are wise and some otherwise.....

I agree, it should be but reality is that the majority of people are getting 30 days, some getting less. In a few cases where there's been a discussion and a fair immigration officer more days have been given. As the poster says she didn't leave the taxi I would err on the side of caution.

On my last day trip over the border I asked the immigration guy what time he was giving me and he said 30 days. I said that I lived in the north and had a property here and he asked if I had my kojan. I actually had a photocopy of it with my car papers so, upon seeing this, he gave me 90 days. I said 'what happens if I overstay this' and he told me there was a fine but I wouldn't have to pay this because I am over 60. Answers on a postcard please if this makes any sense at all!

The norm used to be 90 days but as of October 2019 the norm then changed to 30 days. I've been in and out of the country a few times since then and they've for sure just given me 30 days. However, on my last trip through Ercan they asked me why I was here, I told them that I lived here, so they gave me 90 days?? They did tell me that if I live here then I should apply for residency
