Markets
We normally visit the Weds market in Girne when we are on holiday. Just wondering if similar type of market is held on any other days in the Girne area?
Was told of a Saturday market near Lapta but not sure where it is or if its the same as the Weds market.
Help appreciated.

Re: Markets
The Saturday market is held at the Lambousa Hotel and is separate from the Wednesday markets. It's a good market to visit, bit quiet now as it's cold and mid-winter, but there's a good range of goods, various British foodstuffs that are home-made, clothes, jewellery, and so on.

And of course there is the Traditional Car Boot Sale, next to Pine Bay Holiday Village, Alsancak every Sunday morning, always different items, and some regular booters, if you are a car boot fan well worth a visit, refreshments available and friendly faces everywhere!

Re: Markets
without being nosey, was there anything in particular you would be looking for. and did you know there is a market at Guzelyurt on a Saturdya morning selling the same stuff as at Kyrenia Weds. Lamboussa is different - but if you were feeling adventurous you coiuld do both. Take a look at |Lamboussa and then drive on.

Hi
Normally visit the Weds market in Girne but next time we are across we are bringing a "older" relative with us and promised the market experience. In a senior moment I have arranged a trip down south on the Weds - car hire booked etc...bad planning by me! Hence my enquiry re other markets...Saturday at Guzelyurt sounds good to us if its like the Girne Weds market - may even try the one in Lapta as well.
Thanks for all the replies - great help!

Have been to the market in Lefkosia many times...including once when it moved to a temporary site whilst the original building was having work done on it. Last time we went the market was back in its original location but we thought it was a little quiet and had lost something....maybe it will take time to pick up again.
March, June and Sept trips for us this year.
Magusa - Been a few times and for us we find the old town a little sanitised and touristy now compared to how it was a few years ago so does not really appeal that much. Just our opinion as we know people who love the area.
