TRNC Companies House?

Hello All,

Please don't laugh, but is there an equivalent of the UK's Companies House in TRNC, where I can go online, and find details of Company Directors, and any record of changes to these?

As ever, any advice would be very gratefully received.

That is actually a very good question, I'd be interested if there too.

There is a Companies House in Lefkosa with relevant data. I do not think you can do searches online but have to attend in person, submit the searches and pay the relevant fee. You may also need a stock of small denomination stamps but of that I'm not certain.

I believe the address and location shown on Google/maps is out of date. I think it is on the Ali Riza Efendi rd. near some barracks. Best call the office to get the correct address.

The Registry is in the building of the Ministry of Economy and Energy. Turn right on entering the building, go through the glass door and down to the end of the gloomy corridor. Some staff speak reasonable English and are helpful.
The website rkmmd.gov.ct.tr/ contains useful information and Google translate does a reasonable job.
Searches cost from TL6 (in postage stamps) depending on what you want. There is a comprehensive current price list on the website.
Points to remember:
the search results may not be accurate because filings deemed in error are simply not registered but without anyone being notified of the error;
mortgages and charges are frequently not registered - not a problem with land but could be important in the purchase of movable assets,
accounts (themselves often works of great fiction) are not available (unless the rules have changed recently).

Just a quick update to £eagle's directions.

The office dealing with company enquiries has moved within the Ministry building. Basically, go in the main entrance, and take a left turn after reception; go through a couple of glass doors, to the end of the corridor, and the office is on the left. There are five help-desks with a ticket system. Very helpful people! They gave me a full set of documents, in English, for 30 TL (in postage stamps).
