Returning via Beyarmudu tonight I was given a 30 day visa despite being over 65 and was told that I must produce my kocan at the border as it is a new government requirement. I didn't have problems when crossing, twice, at Ledra Street in January.
Has someone not read the rules, or have the rulesreally changed?

Have you got residency or are you applying for residency?

That is not relevant. My question really is have the conditions been changed for the transitional period to 23/10/2020?

Re: Beyarmudu/Pile crossing
I dont think the conditions have been changed. The first time i went across the line, a few days after the new regulations came into force. I crossed again about a week later and was told i now had only 23 days. I questioned this with the officer and he said if i wanted to cross at any time i wanted , then i should get residency. I said that in the news it had been stated that over 60's had a year, and he said yes, if they do not cross within the year, then they have a full year in which to get their residency. But if they cross a couple of times a month, then they need residency. Seemed sensible to me, so i got residency.

It's very relevant.
And usually the more information available the more easy to answer a query fully and without misunderstanding.
