I think it must mean the 4 that were closed last week. We've just been South to Larnaca via Beyarmudu (SBA) and it was very quiet. Temperature taken on way back other than that no change. Shops in Larnaca were very quiet and no evidence panic buying.

I went over today via Metahan, no traffic or problems at border, but Liddel and Alphamega were so busy, trolleys loaded so high, Nicosia were definitely panic buying, took ages to get through the tills.

2 closed by the North now.

The only crossings open appear to be Pyla, Metehan & Ledra Palace.

From midnight tonight.

This looks tit-for-tat political rather than a health issue.

This has been overtaken by events. Just read this on Facebook:

Government announcement just out - unless you have residency or are a TRNC national you will not be allowed to enter the TRNC from Turkey or South Cyprus between now and 1st April. If you do have residency or are a national then you will have to also go into 14 day home quarantine:

While the extraordinary meeting of the Council of Ministers regarding coronavirus measures is ongoing, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Government Spokesperson Kudret Özersay announced.
Özersay said, "We stopped coming from 5 different countries to Iran, Iraq, China, Italy and South Korea. In addition, France, Spain, Germany, Greece, Switzerland, Denmark, England, USA, Hong Kong, Japan, Norway, Netherlands, Belgium, Passengers coming from Austria, Sweden, Qatar, Singapore and Bahrain are banned from all land and air access.
Those who have immigration leave in our country will enter the TRNC, but will remain in their quarantine for 14 days. Measures will be taken by the Ministry of Health in accordance with the "Communicable Diseases Law" rules against those who do not comply. This application will come into force as of tonight. As of this moment, the decision will remain in effect until April 1, 2020. "

It's a bit racist just banning the English. What if I turn up and put on a Scottish accent?
