Sadly the choices are green, green or green. If you find the post "Test" by Soner he explains why.....

Bearing in mind that the site is funded in part or in full by advertising and therefore the colours used on the site either attract or repel readers.
Understand the psychological meanings of your choices for website colors
Red is attention-getting
Orange is adventurous and affordable
Yellow is cheerful and fun
Green is balancing and reflects nature
Turquoiseis clarity of thought and communication
Blue is honesty and trustworthiness
Indigo in integrity and sincerity
Purple is individual, creative and inventive
Magenta is compassionate, spiritual yet practical
Pink is loving, compassionate, understanding, youthful and romantic
Whiteis simplicity, cleanliness, order and the new slate to write upon
Black is authority, power and control
Gray is neutral, refined and contemporary
Brown is comfort, dependability and friendliness
Silver will appear as gray on a website so read the information on gray to endure that is the message you wish to send
Gold can appear as a dirty yellow which is not positive for any business. Adjust gold on your website to a golden yellow and read the meaning of the color yellow to see if it imparts the message you want to send

For heavens sake, learn to live with it. Have you nothing better to concern you. Soner has explained it in detail. My first reaction was "crikey" not sure I like that (I was a teal person) but after a few hours I feel that it's always been green. I certainly prefer the new layout and must admit the Ads, especially the moving ones, were a distraction. Good on you Soner, its improvement.

Doesn't make much difference to me, I'm colour blind on red and green.

Ha ha! Over the years I have perfected a system, whenever I approach a set of Traffic Lights I make sure that there is always a car in front of me - when they go - I go! Simples!

Not understanding the little bit of nastiness coming from you Sophie. Maybe itβs getting to you having to stay in. At the moment in U.K. I am free to roam around in my area and not locked in yet. I can get my shopping and help my blind 90 year old mother to cope and getting her all the advice and help she needs. For all of us what will be will be.

Not getting at you Dalartokat, but it just seems such a minor thing to be concerned about. Yes, I preferred the Teal colour but in the scheme of things its such a tiny thing for people to get upset about. I think Soner has done a great job on the new version of Kibcom and if he hasn't been able give us all a choice of colour scheme, it really doesn't matter does it?

Sophie I am not upset, please do not patronise me, I merely pointed the issue out. No one is disputing Soner has done a good job and please do not attempt to make me out as if I am some sort of inconsiderate person.sophie wrote: βWed 18 Mar 2020 10:51 amNot getting at you Dalartokat, but it just seems such a minor thing to be concerned about. Re: colour change
Try this if you are using the Chrome browser...
I don't know about you but I'm finding the default colour scheme in Kibkom a bit tiring on my eyes.... However there is a simple Chrome extension that allows you to toggle on and off what is called 'Dark Mode' and it really helps to improve contrast and is much easier to read for me at least... it does away with most of the bright green too.
Use this link to install the toggle which will appear top right by the menu as an oval with an on/off button...

Yes I miss my colour, but.............but also is it me, or have we lost the like, dislike buttons as well. ? I kinda liked those as it meant you didn't have to write anything to show your approval or dislike of a certain view point.

Re: colour change
Groucho, this updated forum version does not have a LIKE button, so we compromised with a Smilie Thumbs Up. Developers for the phpBB 3+ may develop the Like function for this version in the future. So for the time being we have to do with the Smilies for now.

Re: colour change
So did I davedee, the default colour is what we are stuck with... However if you are using Chrome then the dark mode plugin renders the display in a much more readable format and softer colours... Largely removing the garish green. See post 22 in this thread for details...

Re: colour change
This is a series of possible fixes to enable colour changes to the site, limited, but it does offer some relief to the Green
The fixes are based upon Chrome extensions that can be activated but only to specific sites e.g.KibKom.
The first picture is when the Chrome extension Night Shift is enabled. The second Picture is when the second extension is enabled only, High Contrast When both Night Shift is anabled AND High Contrast are enabled you get the beautiful Blue and very pleaseing colours.

My Thanks to Groucho for sparking the thought process.

Re: colour change
I should have explained that you can exclude sites you don't want to view in dark mode quite easily so that only Kibkom is affected... so quite easy to get a pleasing, easy on the eyes and easy to read (apart from some posters' contributions lol - well you know who you are...) resolution.
To exclude a site from dark mode you simply right click on it and select 'Exclude from dark mode'.
You can also right click on the toggle itself and switch Kibkom as the one site to be in dark mode...
