After three wasted days trying to cancel flights booked for the end of the month on both computer and by phone I finally got the option on my laptop to cancel said flights; only to be informed I would have to pay a penalty fee. Got on the phone to Istanbul and a nice lad informed me that today they had changed the conditions so that I could only cancel my flights as and when Pegasus resume normal service.
Despite me pointing out that that day could be a long way off the lad was adamant that all I could do was make my ticket 'open' and then when the time comes that normality returns I could either change the dates or indeed cancel without penalty. I then reminded him that it was their system's fault that I hadn't been able to cancel before the conditions changed and I should be able to cancel for free and he said he would pass this on to his supervisor.
By now thoroughly confused I took the open ticket option pending a decision from above and was informed that this would be confirmed one way or the other by email in a couple of days; when I enquired as to whether this option was free the lad said that he thought so. We shall see; i'm not holding my breath.

Toronto, think you must have got the same guy I did when I phoned. In the end he stopped being quite so nice, but remained adamant. I've ended up making no decision re Stansted trip as I don't know when it will be convenient again this year for the rest of the family. , However if the flight charges had gone up next year then I would have to pay the difference.

Sophie;
I accept that I will have to pay any difference i'm just a bit ticked off at the alleged 'condition change' It seems a bit convenient that when you could change or cancel flights for free the website had problems and yet following the change the website worked perfectly.
