New water meter

Our old water meter into which our card was inserted to find out detail such as money, tonnage etc etc went kaput. Belediyesi water men came and put a new, small round meter on. This does not take the card, no slot. It shows a series of numbers. Does anyone else have one of these and how do you read it?

Sounds like one of the old meters whereby the Belediyesi came around to read periodical and raised a bill? Maybe no smart meters available right now?

Read the black digits and make a note of them now, as that will be your starting point!

Ignore the dials, they're just fractions of a ton, and not counted when they read the meter.

I payed a fortune to Esentepe mayor who put me in a second hand meter that stopped after a week for 2 months i went up to there offiecs to ask when you going to put in new meter . Dont have one he says in the end one day the mayor came in just after the man behind the counter said see the mayor , I stopped him and told him were we were he said to the bloke put him in another meter witch then they manage to find another second hand one that worked this util Turtle Bay said they cant pump anymore water as they only had enough for them self's . In the winter they pumped some more this buy the way all started 3 years ago Now we find that Turtle Bay wont pump anymore this was 2 months ago so the thieving mayor has taken money from more sites connected them still not us to get some more money to keep his Merc running . Now how long . The last water we got was 4months ago and now due to the virus i suppose it will be another 4 months if then . This is disgusting and daylight robbery . So if you are in an area waiting for connection dont bother save your money for the tanker driver . am alright jack comes to mind

Thankfully, we've never had a meter that takes cards and have absolutely no problem with the meter you describe, and long may it continue that way. In normal course of events, a Belediye bloke comes and reads meter on or around 15th of month., he prints off a bill on his machine and we duly pay in any bank or at Alsancak Belly office. Assuming no-one will come at the moment, but as KC says, just read the digits, noting exactly when meter installed.

We had one of the old style water meters, we changed it to one of the new meters what you use with a card, our reason to change was that at that time, we had a leak in our under ground water tank. We lost 86 ton of water, which we had to pay for. We have a tank above ground now but what puts my mind at ease, is that if I only have 10 tons on the card that's all I can lose.
