Anyone booked Easter flights to UK with Turkish Airlines?

I have flights booked with Turkish Airlines on 8 April and have just received an email to say that the flight times have changed. Same day leaving Ercan but next day from Istanbul! I was expecting to be notified that the flight had been cancelled. Anyone else have flights booked with TA for Easter and have received a similar email? I assume that if I try and cancel at this stage I will lose most of the money paid. £569.00 2 passengers.

We were supposed to leave from Ercan to the UK tomorrow for two weeks.

About two weeks ago we received three e mails saying the flight times had changed but we had to call Turkish Airlines to check the changes. In actual fact those changes were the cancelling of the flights.
We booked through a third party and they are claiming the refunds from TA. TA did confirm we are entitled to a full refund.

Were you actually given new flight times? For example my original flight was 8.50 am, changed to 16:00 with the connecting flight changing from 14:00 to 13:00 next day. Nothing received regarding the return flights. I must admit it is very confusing.

Judyvin,
All you can do is sit tight and hope they cancel nearer the time. No flights are leaving from Ercan atm and unlikely to do so in near future. If you cancel you will only get your taxes back.

When we rang TA to find the new flight times we were told there were no new flight times, the flights had been cancelled, even though the e mails said we had new flight times.

I mentioned this in an earlier post.

Our cancellation emails said there were flight time changes but where the new times normally would appear on the message it was blank.

This was the clue that they were cancelled.

My email didn't mention cancellation. It said the flights had been changed and gave me new flight numbers and times. Hopefully nearer the time they will cancel them because I have no intention of going back until things settle down.

We got an email from the on 19th March saying schedule change and detailing a different fly time for the IST to LHR leg but no mention of the ECN to IST part. When I went into my booking online it let me cancel it and said I would get a full refund onto my credit card so I cancelled it. I got a test back immediately saying that the cancel /refund was complete and to see the email for details of the transaction. I didn’t receive the email and so far I haven’t had the refund back on my credit card. I can’t now go back into my booking as it says it has been cancelled. Has anyone else actually managed to get their refund back?

Yes I remember your post thank, and yes it does make sense. As it happens we are glad not to be going back, the lodge we have on a site is in lock down for three weeks, my parents are 89 and 90 so no visiting them, of course there is no telling when we would get back?

I would be amazed if any flights left the Island within the next 6 weeks.

I do t think it’s covered by the CAA. When I tried to claim this in December for my Atlasglobal flight that wasn’t covered so this will be the same.

My flight is originating in Ercan airport which they don’t class as Cyprus (very unfair)and the airline is Turkish which isn’t on the list either.

The way that I read it is, if your flight originates from or lands in an EU country , then you are due a refund. I contacted TA regarding my cancelled flight on the 19th from LHR to Ercan and (after a bit of running around) was given assurances that my fare would be refunded. Apparently it takes 7 - 14 working days.

A friend had flights from Ercan to Germany booked for next week returning in May. She contacted TA via Facebook and got offered airmiles or credit, she didn't really want either. She contacted the UK customer services on this number +4408448006666 and was offered a full refund.
